Melbourne meat-processing kings the Catalfamo family have turned to Financial Review Rich Lister Tim Gurner to realise their long-held ambitions to turn a Southbank hostel into a $250 million high-rise apartment tower.

The Catalfamos, founders of Australian Meat Group, have owned the 1652-square-metre site at 334 City Road – once home to the Eve Night Club and now the Urban Central Hostel – since paying $4.5 million for it 1999.
